 |
Jennifer Bannister has a
Master of Social Work degree and extensive experience working with
families in crisis and children who have survived crisis, trauma
and/or abuse. She often works with families and/or attorneys who
desire a therapist who is prepared to go to court and share findings
and recommendations. She also has experience in working with
families seeking adoption and in doing pre-adoption home studies.
She specializes in working with children and adolescents and their
families on issues surrounding school, family dysfunction, crisis
management and mental health, and has been serving this population
for over fifteen years. Through West County Psychological
Associates, Ms. Bannister provides therapy for children,
adolescents, adults and families as well as school consultation,
counseling, and training services. |

Suzanne Coffey received her Master of Art in Counseling from
Lindenwood University. Ms. Coffey’s professional experience includes
working with families, children, adolescents, married couples, and
engaged couples. Ms. Coffey has worked in the public school system
for 18 years with families who have typically and atypically
developing children. She also worked as a consultant with the St
Louis Public Schools, focusing on discipline issues with educators
and parents. Currently, Ms. Coffey is a Pastoral Counselor at a
local church providing individual counseling, support to their
school personnel and individual and group sessions for the students.
In the office, she provides individual, couple, and family therapy,
particularly with families who have children with social skills
issues, and/or Sensory Processing Dysfunction. She also provides
education concerning marriage to engaged and newly married couples.
Ms. Coffey works with families and parents focusing on communication
and relationship skills, parent skills training, and social skills
training which includes self-esteem and self-confidence. |

Kim Cowherd received her
Master of Social Work degree from Washington University in St. Louis
and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has over 12 years of
experience working with children and families and specializes in
working with young children with challenging behavior. Ms. Cowherd
has extensive experience working as a school social worker in an
early childhood special education setting where she provides group,
individual and family therapy. She also has experience working with
emotionally disturbed children in psychiatric hospitals and with
families going through infertility and adoption. She works both with
birthmothers and with adoptive parents throughout the process.
Trained in Theraplay, she incorporates this into group, family and
individual therapy. Ms. Cowherd also has experience initiating an
early childhood Positive Behavior Support program in an early
childhood setting. Through WCPA, she provides therapy and
consultation for young children and their families, birthmothers and
adoptive parents. |

 |
Susan Fagan is a Registered Nurse and a Licensed Professional
Counselor who specializes in treating adolescents and adults with
addictive behaviors. Her clinical background involves several years
of trauma work in an intensive facility for individuals dealing with
eating disorders, substance abuse, self-harm and related issues. Ms.
Fagan’s knowledge of medicine, family dynamics and attachment styles
support a comprehensive treatment approach. She is trained in
Internal Family Systems Therapy and EMDR, and is experienced in
family and couples counseling. Ms. Fagan received her Master’s
Degree in Counseling from Webster University, in St. Louis where she
focused on family systems and health issues. As a therapist at WCPA,
she provides consultation to schools, churches, and professionals on
the physical and psychological impact of addiction. She provides the
firm guidance necessary to manage compulsive behaviors in an
atmosphere of compassion and respect. |

Michael
Mahon received his undergraduate degree from St. Louis
University in psychology. He received his Masters degree in
counseling from Webster University in Webster Groves. Mr. Mahon
currently serves as the Director of Substance Abuse Services
at West County Psychological Associates. He is also Adjunct
Professor of Psychology at Missouri Baptist University where
he teaches graduate class in both substance abuse counseling
and advanced human development. Mr. Mahon has worked in the
field of substance abuse for twenty years. He is committed
to helping individuals and systems achieve their full potential
through recovery and insight. Mr. Mahon provides individual,
group and family counseling concerning issues of drug use,
depression, social skills, self-esteem and relationships. In
addition he provides consultation to schools on a wide range
of topics from substance abuse to changing school climate. |

Amy
Maus received her Master of Social Work degree from
Washington University, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker
in both Missouri and Illinois. Ms. Maus is WCPA's
Administrative Director. Her background includes clinical
work with severely behaviorally and emotionally disturbed children
and adolescents, along with their families, in outpatient,
inpatient, and residential settings. She also has an extensive
background in crisis intervention and court advocacy with women
and their children, including serving on the Board of Directors
of one of the largest domestic violence organizations in the
St. Louis region. In addition, Ms. Maus has a specialization
in human services management, with education and experience
in financial and personnel management, grant writing, policy-making
and program development. She currently provides training and
consultation within many area organizations and schools, both
public and private. |

Susan Rosse received her doctorate in clinical psychology from
the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Rosse has
clinical experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and
families who have come to therapy seeking help for an assortment of
presenting problems. Working in a variety of settings, including
schools, outpatient hospital clinics, preschools, residential
facilities, and in private practice has offered a broad spectrum of
experience. Susan has also provided consultation services to school
personnel and administrators and to daycare providers. As a
therapist, she works primarily with adolescents, adults, couples,
and families, and enjoys conducting groups with adult clients. In
addition, Dr. Rosse provides educational and psychological
evaluations for clients of all ages. Typical referrals for testing
include assessing for ADHD, learning disorders, depression, anxiety,
and other social-emotional functioning issues. |

Mary Saggau received her Master of Social Work degree from
Washington University. Ms. Saggau’s professional experience includes
serving as a school counselor on both the elementary and secondary
levels and working with college-age students. She currently provides
consultation, on-site clinical work and training within schools and
business organizations. In addition, she provides individual,
couples and family therapy, particularly specializing in working
with middle school through college-age clients and their families on
issues surrounding: school motivation, family dysfunction,
depression, anxiety, parenting skills training, social skills,
crisis management and abuse. Ms. Saggau’s work experience also
includes over 20 years in accounting and management positions within
private industry and the university environment. Her broad
background makes her especially skilled in working with business
professionals. |

Darla Swann received her Ph.D. from the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in
Clinical Child Psychology at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Dr.
Swann specializes in the evaluation of cognitive processes, learning
differences, academic, behavioral and emotional problems. Her
experience in schools makes her uniquely qualified to assist
families and schools to develop appropriate educational programs for
children with learning differences, including ADHD, processing
issues, and learning disabilities. As a therapist, Dr. Swann works
with children, adolescents and families, with a focus on improving
parent-child relationships, enhancing child self-esteem, optimizing
child potential, and changing behaviors and thought patterns
associated with motivation issues, anxiety and depression. Dr. Swann
also provides parent and teacher training covering topics related to
meeting the psychological needs of children and youth in their
natural environments, their schools and homes. |
